School arrangements from September 2020

In September, all children will be required in school for full time education. Information below will answer any of your questions and give all details for their return. Arrangements will be in place until 23rd October 2020 at the earliest, dependent on Government advice. The leadership team will continue to review plans weekly.

Returning to school

Tuesday and Wednesday will be used as training days.

Thursday – Year 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 attend in their new classroom (with their previous teacher) to end the previous year with a small celebration.

Friday – ALL year groups in school with their new teacher.

Bubbles

We will be having 3 bubbles across the school.

Bubble 1 – EYFS (Reception and Nursery)

Bubble 2 – Year 1, 2 and 3

Bubble 3 – Year 4, 5 and 6

Each bubble will have allocated staff. These will not change unless there are exceptional circumstances that need to be accounted for. Each bubble will have scheduled drop off, pick up, break times and lunchtimes to prevent bubbles ‘bursting’.

Not in use

All soft furnishings have been removed from classrooms.

The Music room and Sunflower room will be out of bounds with exceptions. Nurture sessions will be delivered in the classroom.

Children will not be able to self choose books from the library. Books will be selected and sent home. All other reading books will continue to be sent home.

Drop off & Pick up

There is no parking on the school car park. Please use the council car park next to the field to reduce public highway traffic.

Drop off and pick up timings and arrangements are shown below. Children in bubble 2 will enter school between 08:30 and 08:40. Between 08:45 and 08:55 children in bubble 1 and 3 will enter the school site. Children in bubble 3 who are siblings of bubble 2 can enter at the earlier time.

Bubble 1 will drop off and pick up from the playground at the front of school. Parents of children in bubble 1 will be allowed to enter the playground through the large black double gates. There is no access to classrooms.

Bubble 2 and 3 will drop off and pick up in the area between the black gate (pavement) and the green gate (school). There will be a one way system to allow parents to enter the school site and then leave via the same gate. Children will be released into this area at the pick up time. Children in bubble 3 who are allowed to walk home can do so.

We are able to accommodate one adult for families with up to 2 children. Two adults will be accommodated for families with 3 children or more.

FAQ’s – Taken from Piota form

1.Can you confirm what time the wraparound Care will start in the morning and end in the evening please? Thanks

1a. The times for wrap around care are from 07:30 – 18:00. Please see further details here.

2. Will children need to wear face covering, due to some schools asking children to wear face coverings, will the teaching staff be wearing face coverings as Government advice is for all people over the age of 11 to wear face coverings in shops and public transport, will parents be informed of any suspected cases of infections for the safety of children, carers and staff,

2a. Children and staff will not be wearing face coverings. Wearing a face covering or face mask in schools or other education settings is not recommended. Face coverings may be beneficial for short periods indoors where there is a risk of close social contact with people you do not usually meet and where social distancing and other measures cannot be maintained, for example on public transport or in some shops. This does not apply to schools or other education settings. Schools and other education or childcare settings should therefore not require staff, children and learners to wear face coverings. Changing habits, cleaning and hygiene are effective measures in controlling the spread of the virus. Further guidance can be found here. Staff will be wearing appropriate PPE when delivering intimate care or first aid. If a child has a confirmed case of COVID 19 parents will be informed and appropriate action from PHE followed.

3. Do yr 2 need to have hot lunches pre ordered by parents or do they just order their hot lunches in school on the mornings?
